Home Buyer Education
NeighborWorks Blackhawk Region has been providing homebuying workshops since its founding in 1979. The homebuyer education program is designed to promote long term homeownership by providing training and counseling. Our philosophy is to help you become mortgage-ready regardless of where you are in the home buying process.
The workshop will cover a variety of topics, including navigating the home purchase process, rebuilding credit, reducing debt, determining affordability, becoming mortgage-ready and much more. To complete the process a one-on-one housing counseling session is scheduled, to look at where you are in the home buying process, answer your questions, create an action plan and budget, and review down payment assistance programs and costs.
It is like getting a Ph.D. in homeownership!
